David Hagy is in his 30th season as Music Director of the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra.  During that time he has led monumental concerts like the Mahler Second Symphony and the Verdi Requiem and small concerts like Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale.  He has conducted music from style periods ranging from the Renaissance to works by living composers, and in styles from the symphonic to the popular including gospel, jazz, musical theater, blues, rock, and others.  He loves variety and collaboration and continues to design creatively unique concerts.

He grew up in Indianapolis and credits that public school system with enabling him to become a classical musician.  He went to Indiana University as a violinist and Yale as a conductor, and attributes his conducting abilities to work with Thomas Briccetti and Otto-Werner Mueller.  He has conducted youth orchestras in Omaha, Springfield (MA), Greenboro, and Winston-Salem.  He has also conducted over fifty musical theater productions.

Currently he is also beginning his 23rd year as the Orchestra Director at Wake Forest University for which he has taught three semesters in Venice, Italy.  He lives in Salisbury with his cat Dario and is pleased to be working with the wonderful musicians of the Salisbury Symphony.

Dr. Constance Stanton is a retired physician who served on the faculty of Wake Forest School of Medicine in the Pathology Department for 23 years, specializing in neuropathology and ophthalmic pathology.  A significant percentage of her time was spent in teaching medical students and residents, and, as an emeritus faculty member, she continues to give lectures at the medical school once a month.  During her last 5 years at Wake Forest, she was also the Residency Program Director for the Pathology Department, thus gaining administrative experience she hopes will serve her well as a member of the Salisbury Symphony staff.

Constance, a native of California, credits the public school system for instilling her love of music.  She played the clarinet from ages 8 to 18 and started piano lessons at age 10.  When the time commitment imposed by her medical training decreased to the point she could take music lessons again, she began studying voice at age 35.  As a mezzo soprano, she has sung for over 30 years in the alto section of church choirs and symphony chorales, and is currently a member of the newly-formed Salisbury Symphony Chorale.  She has also served as a cantor and church soloist, and gave a solo voice recital at Salem College in 1994.  Her voice teachers include Edmund Najera, Diane Thornton, and James Allbritten.

A versatile musician, Dr. Lynn Bowes (DMA, University of Iowa) has established herself as a successful flute performer and teacher.  While winning several competitions and accepting performance invitations, Lynn has performed across the United States including soloing Chaminade's "Concertino" with the Charlotte Civic Orchestra.

Outside of the Salisbury Symphony, Lynn maintains a private flute studio in Mooresville, NC with scholarly interests ranging widely from the history of music to the current trends in performing. She believes teaching is a collaborative effort. As a teacher, she openly shares her knowledge as it pertains to each student's level. Lynn’s ultimate goal is to help each of her students to discover their own passion and love for music. It is not an idea that music is only important or appreciated by professionally-trained musicians, but also for the people who may have never read a note or played an instrument. She feels music enhances our lives in so many ways and uses this as a platform for showing my students that music is something we appreciate before we even realize it.
